2014–2018 GMC Sierra Car Stereo, Speaker & Dash Kit Fitment

A 2014–2018 GMC Sierra accepts a single- or double-DIN aftermarket stereo using a Metra dash kit, and steering-wheel controls are kept with a plug-and-play harness. Front and rear door speakers are 6.5" (in a 6.75" location). Bose SLT/Denali trims add a factory amp that needs a bypass or retention harness.

Door speakers are commonly 6.5" drivers that drop into the factory 6.75" mounting location, so a 6.5" with a bracket is the safe choice front and rear. Bose-equipped SLT and Denali trucks run a factory amp (behind the rear seat) — confirm your trim with us and we'll match the right amp-bypass or amp-retention harness so you keep full output.

The K2XX GMC Sierra is a clean, modern truck to upgrade — the factory IntelliLink dash pops out and accepts a single- or double-DIN aftermarket stereo with the correct Metra kit, so Apple CarPlay or Android Auto drops straight in. The one thing to check is your trim: base trucks wire straight through, while Bose-equipped SLT and Denali models run a factory amp that needs the right bypass or retention harness. Below are the exact dash kits and harnesses we stock for the '14–'18 Sierra — or have our Chilliwack techs do the whole job.

2014–2018 GMC Sierra stereo upgrade — FAQ

What size speakers fit a 2014–2018 GMC Sierra?

The front and rear doors take 6.5" speakers. The factory location is closer to 6.75", so a 6.5" speaker with the correct mounting bracket is the clean, safe fit front and rear. If your Sierra has the Bose system, the door speakers are amplified — we'll set you up with speakers that match. Not sure on the bracket? We'll include the right one.

Can I put a double DIN / Apple CarPlay stereo in my Sierra?

Yes. With the Metra 99-3014G dash kit, a '14–'18 Sierra takes a full double-DIN CarPlay / Android Auto receiver, replacing the factory 4.2" or 8" IntelliLink screen with an OEM-style finish. Want a large floating display instead? The 108-GM1G kit is built for a Pioneer 8" screen.

Will I lose my steering-wheel controls or backup camera?

No. A plug-and-play harness keeps your steering-wheel controls working, and a compatible head unit retains the factory backup camera. On Bose-equipped SLT and Denali trucks the factory amp lives behind the rear seat — we use the Metra 70-2057 amp-bypass harness, or an iDatalink Maestro interface, so you keep full sound and the dash chimes.

What dash kit do I need for a (2014–2018) Sierra?

For a standard single- or double-DIN stereo, the Metra 99-3014G (gunmetal grey, '14–up) is the go-to. For a large Pioneer 8" floating-screen receiver, use the Metra 108-GM1G. Both are in stock above with live pricing, and both are built specifically for the '14–'18 Silverado/Sierra dash.
