DRAFT FOR MO'S APPROVAL. These policies are pending approval and may change before they take effect.
Return & Exchange Policy
1.1 Return window
Eligible products can be returned within 30 days of delivery, or of pickup for orders collected at our Chilliwack shop. After 30 days, sales are final unless the product is covered by warranty (see Section 2).
1.2 Eligibility
To qualify for a return or exchange, all of the following must be true:
- The item is new, unused and uninstalled.
- The item is in its complete original manufacturer packaging, including the box, inserts, manuals, accessories and hardware. Items returned without their original packaging will be refused.
- You have a Return Merchandise Authorization (RMA) number from us before you ship anything back. Returns without an RMA will be refused.
- The RMA number is clearly marked on the outside of the shipping box.
- The serial number, if the product has one, matches the one on your order.
1.3 Items that cannot be returned
These are final sale and cannot be returned: cut wire sold by the foot; installed or used items; custom or special orders; open-box and clearance; services; modified enclosures. Final-sale items are labelled “Final sale, no returns” at checkout.
We also cannot accept:
- Products that have been installed, wired or mounted, or that show signs of use (screw marks, scratches, mounting residue, wire clippings, fingerprints on cones or surrounds).
- Products missing their original manufacturer packaging.
- Products with blown, burnt or physically damaged drivers, voice coils or amplifier boards caused by misuse, overpowering or improper installation.
- Installation labour once work has started (see Section 5).
1.4 Return shipping
- You pay return shipping unless the item arrived defective (dead on arrival) or we shipped the wrong item. In those cases we send you a prepaid return label.
- Ship returns with a trackable, insured service. We are not responsible for returns lost or damaged on the way back to us.
- Do not use the product's retail box as the shipping box. Put the product, in its original manufacturer box, inside a separate outer box with padding.
- Keep the original packaging until you are sure you are keeping the product. Without it, the product cannot be returned.
1.5 Restocking fees
1.6 Refunds
- Refunds go back to the original payment method.
- Refunds are processed within 5 to 10 business days after we receive and inspect the return.
- Shipping charges are not refunded unless the return is due to our error.
- If your order shipped free and you return it for a reason other than a defect or our error, we may deduct the shipping cost we paid from your refund.
1.7 Open-box, clearance and refurbished items
Open-box, clearance and refurbished items are sold as-is, with no returns, exchanges or refunds. They are labelled that way on the product page.
1.8 Exchanges
- We exchange for the same product only (for example, a different size or impedance).
- To switch to a different product, return the original and place a new order.
- Exchanges depend on availability.
1.9 How to start a return
- Email mo@audiomotivez.com or call 2364586006 within 30 days of delivery or pickup.
- Tell us your order number, the item or items, and the reason for the return.
- Wait for your RMA number and return instructions. Do not ship anything before you have them.
- Pack the item securely inside a separate outer box with all of its original contents.
- Ship it with a trackable, insured service to the address on your RMA.
- Once we receive and inspect it, we process your refund or exchange within 5 to 10 business days.
1.10 Cancelling an order
Orders can be cancelled for a full refund before they ship.
Orders cancelled under consumer protection law (late delivery, missing disclosure) are refunded in full, including shipping and taxes, within 15 days.
1.11 Your legal rights
Nothing in these policies limits any right you have under the consumer protection laws of British Columbia or of your own province or territory.
Warranty Policy
2.1 Manufacturer warranty
Manufacturer warranty plus 30-day defect support.
New products we sell carry the original manufacturer's warranty. Your invoice is your proof of purchase for any warranty claim.
2.2 Our 30-day defect support
- If a product turns out to be defective within 30 days of delivery or pickup, contact us and we will arrange a replacement or exchange at no charge.
- If an item is dead on arrival and you tell us within 48 hours of delivery, we replace it as a priority and cover the return shipping.
- Please send photos or a video showing the defect with your request.
2.3 After 30 days
After the first 30 days, warranty claims go to the manufacturer. We will give you their contact details and a copy of your invoice, and help you through the process.
2.4 What the warranty does not cover
- Improper installation: incorrect wiring, the wrong impedance load, an inadequate power supply, poor grounding, improper gain settings or mounting errors.
- Misuse or abuse: overpowering, clipping, mechanical over-excursion, or use outside the published specifications.
- Physical damage: water or other liquids, drops, impacts, fire, theft, vandalism or vehicle accidents.
- Modification or tampering by anyone other than the manufacturer.
- Normal wear and tear, environmental damage or cosmetic wear.
- Consequential or incidental costs, such as towing, lost time, or installation labour charged by another shop.
2.5 Amplifier warranty claims
Most amplifier failures come from installation problems, so amplifier warranty claims need the following:
- A photo of the amplifier installed in the vehicle showing the power, ground and remote connections.
- A photo of the ground point (bare, sanded metal with a proper ring terminal).
- A photo of the amplifier settings (gain, crossover, bass boost and so on).
- For a subwoofer amplifier, a multimeter reading of the voice coil impedance while connected to the amplifier.
- The battery voltage at rest and while playing.
