2017–2022 Honda CR-V Car Stereo, Speaker & Dash Kit Fitment
The 2017–2022 Honda CR-V (5th gen) accepts a single- or double-DIN aftermarket stereo using a Metra dash kit that replaces the factory 5" or 7" display. All four doors use 6.5" speakers, front and rear. Steering-wheel controls are retained with a plug-and-play harness; Touring trims keep the factory amp.

Across the 5th-gen CR-V (2017–2022), all four door locations use 6.5" speakers, so front and rear share the same size — easy to upgrade in a matched set. The base LX uses a small 5" screen and most other trims a 7" touchscreen; both are replaced cleanly by a Metra dash kit. Touring trims add a factory amp behind the shifter — confirm your trim with us and we'll match the right harness.
The 5th-generation CR-V is a clean, modern upgrade candidate — Honda's factory 5" or 7" screen drops out and a Metra dash kit gives an aftermarket single- or double-DIN stereo a painted, OEM-style fit. Because every door uses a 6.5" speaker, you can refresh the whole car with one matched set instead of mixing sizes. 2017–2022 Honda CR-V stereo upgrade — FAQ
What size speakers fit a 2017–2022 Honda CR-V?
All four door locations on the 5th-gen CR-V take 6.5" speakers — front and rear are the same size, so you can upgrade the whole car in one matched set. Honda uses its own mounting pattern, so you may need a speaker adapter bracket; we'll include the right one for your CR-V.
Can I put a double DIN / Apple CarPlay stereo in my CR-V?
Yes. With the Metra 95-7817HG (or 95-7802CH) dash kit, the 2017–2022 CR-V takes a full double-DIN CarPlay / Android Auto receiver. The kit removes the factory 5" or 7" screen opening and gives the new stereo a painted, OEM-style finish.
Will I lose steering-wheel controls or the backup camera?
No. A plug-and-play wiring harness keeps your steering-wheel controls working, and a compatible head unit retains the factory backup camera. On Touring trims with the factory amp behind the shifter, we add an amp-retention interface so you keep full sound from every speaker.
What dash kit do I need for a 5th generation CR-V?
For a double-DIN stereo, the Metra 95-7817HG is the go-to for 2017–2022; the 95-7802CH is an alternate charcoal-finish double-DIN. For a single-DIN stereo, use the 99-7817HG (or 99-7802CH). All four are in stock above with live pricing.
