Metra Amp Bypass Harness for 2002-2004 Chevrolet Cavalier and Pontiac Sunfire (70-2040)

The Metra 70-2040 is an amp bypass harness for 2002-2004 Chevrolet Cavalier and Pontiac Sunfire models with the factory amplified sound system. It removes the factory amplifier from the signal path so an aftermarket radio can power the car's speakers on its own.

Look for RPO code U85 on the glove box option sticker to confirm the car is amplified; the factory amp sits on the driver's side of the trunk behind the carpet. Dedicated leads are provided for the front and rear tweeters. Because the crossover was built into the factory amp, add crossovers to protect the original speakers.
