Product Details

Metra's 70-2038 amp bypass harness is made for 1997-2002 Pontiac Firebird models with the factory amplifier system. It lets an aftermarket radio run the Firebird's speakers directly, taking the original amplifier out of the audio chain.

Amplified cars carry RPO code W54 or W55 on the glove box option sticker. The harness includes leads for the front and rear tweeters plus both voice coils of the left and right subwoofers. On these cars the tweeter wires also act as the amp's inputs from the radio, so the speaker wires at the dash need to be disconnected during the install.
