Product Details

The Metra 70-2046 is an amp bypass harness for amplified 2001-2004 Chevrolet Cavalier, 2002-2003 Chevrolet Malibu and 2001-2004 Pontiac Sunfire models. It takes the factory amplifier out of the system so an aftermarket radio can drive the speakers directly.

Check the glove box option sticker for RPO code UQ3 to confirm the amplified system. The factory amp sits on the driver's side of the trunk behind the carpet, and the harness supplies leads for the rear tweeter and rear subwoofer circuits. Some early 2001 Cavalier and Sunfire cars used only the sub circuits for the rear speakers, and the tweeters should be crossed over to avoid damage.
